What is TUDOR Pelagos 39?
The latest release from TUDOR, the Pelagos 39, combines sophistication, radiance and elegance with their traditional, professional divers' watch heritage. It is a timepiece that displays a sleek and wearable look, whilst still maintaining a strong technical know-how that enables a safe dive. The Pelagos 39 is crafted from satin-brushed, grade 2 titanium, which creates a smooth finish, alongside a contrasting matte finish with the unidirectional, rotating bezel’s shiny black ceramic insert. The satin-brushed case is 39mm in diameter, making for the perfect unisex watch!
One of the key elements for a divers' watch is that the dial is clean and legible, but with a striking appearance. TUDOR has again nailed this with the Pelagos 39 model. It has a sunray satin finish black dial with luminescent hour markers, as well as TUDOR’s signature snowflake hands. To ensure that the watch is legible at all times, its hour markers, hands, and bezel are exceptionally coated with grade X1, Swiss Super-LumiNova luminescent material. This plays further into the stunning matte and shiny contrast of TUDOR’s latest timepiece.
Certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute, the TUDOR Pelagos 39 features the in-house MT5400 Calibre, which has a 7-hour power reserve and a silicon hairspring. This timepiece is water resistant to an impressive 200m with a screw-down crown, and will be ultra-precise wherever you take it. It also features a Grade 2, titanium bracelet, as well as a complimentary black rubber strap, with the TUDOR T-fit clasp, that has rapid adjustment and diver’s extension of up to 5 positions. This ensures the perfect fit!
TUDOR Pelagos Family
The Pelagos 39 model has taken the watch industry by storm due to its versatile, contemporary design, and has fit in perfectly with the rest of the TUDOR family of technical divers’ watches. The TUDOR Pelagos line offers a variety of technical, mechanical divers’ watches that are at the forefront of their sector; Pelagos, Pelagos LHD, Pelagos FXD and Pelagos 39. Now made up of four models, this product family has been adopted since 2012 by pioneers of underwater exploration all over the world.
Whilst the Pelagos, Pelagos LHD and Pelagos FXD models conserve a purely practical aquatic heritage, offering high-tech functions that are specific to specialised and positioned, professional dives, the Pelagos 39 is a compact and versatile diver’s watch. Continually maintaining an utmost level of technicality, the Pelagos 39 also displays an unmatched touch of elegance, created by the shine of its sunray finishes on its dial, and the insert on the bezel. Forming a bridge between land and sea, this model meets all of the ISO standards for divers’ watches, alongside its renowned versatility and enhanced, aesthetic finishing touches.
History of TUDOR Divers' Watch
The history of the TUDOR divers’ watch dates back to 1954, with the launch of reference 7922. This was the firstborn in a long, successful line of TUDOR divers’ watches. Affordable, robust, reliable, precise, and waterproof to 100m (330 ft), it perfectly represented TUDOR’s excellent watch philosophy. Today, around seven decades following the initial introduction of reference 7922, we have witnessed the constant improvement of TUDOR divers’ watches, as well as the Pelagos family gaining much acclaim from professionals in this field, including some of the greatest military navies!
